Phono-portrait

For this concert, Christian Sebille suggested that I create a program based on two of my pieces and two works by other composers. Rather than gathering pieces according to a common point, I chose on the contrary heterogeneous musics. I called them for their “active” role: they question and displace our perception of sound. These musics are organized in relays, each one opening its own way from the place where the previous one stopped. The ensemble of pieces thus forms a crossing, an adventure in four episodes, soliciting our ear in four different modes. “Comme je l’entends” plays with the mise en abîme of the music and its recorded commentary, putting the act of listening into words. “Cielo vivo” leaves the verb to immerse us in the abstract beauty of rhythmic and spatial processes. “Duende eléctrico” is based on a dialectic between the formal tensions under the ground and the visible energy of the instrumental gesture. “Qian Kun”, like a wave, erases the fatigue of the journey, evoking with a beautiful simplicity the experience of plenitude
